Urban Hiking in the Heart of Portland, Oregon - 2019

January 12, 2019
Today marks the 12th day of our 365 page challenge/book, where we are trying to stay active for a healthy lifestyle change for 2019!

We started our journey in Hillsboro, OR where we parked our car at a park and ride, and caught the MAX/Train to downtown Portland. We got off at the "Skidmore Fountain" stop. From there we walked toward the river and soon came upon the Waterfront Park Trail. We headed North towards the Steel Bridge on the mostly flat bike/run/walk path. We crossed the Steel Bridge and continued following the path, now going south towards the Tilikum Bridge which you can't miss... Bridge of the People is a cable-stayed bridge only used by Street cars, public transportation, bikers, runners, and even us walkers. We continued our loop and headed north again along the waterfront until we jetted west into the city downtown to grab a quick bite. We had to make a quick stop into Pioneer Place mall to check out the Bitcoin ATM and Maria needed to pick up some perfume. We then made a trek to one of our favorite sushi spots "Sakura Sushi" on SW 6th and Washington (great Happy Hour all day on the weekends).
