How we cleaned our sea shell bounty with muriatic acid and water. With our recent travels to a few beautiful beaches, we have collected some great shells. Some of the shells and coral we found that washed up to the shore looked great but needed some cleaning. After doing some YouTube researches, we found that muriatic acid was a great way to make the colors pop. We used a mixture of 3 parts water to 1 part muriatic acid we picked up from the local grocery store. I have to say, it worked! The shells look much better and the colors are now more vibrant.
The conch shells we had were from some fishermen passing by in Talisay, Philippines. We saved the shells after we harvested the meat out from them.
