DJI Mavic Pro Drone Crash | Sunken Cemetery - Camiguin Island, PHILIPPINES
ROOKIE and EXPENSIVE MISTAKE.
I have had my DJI Mavic Pro for about 3 years now, and I've probably only flown about 30 times (because I didn't want to break it...lol). Every time I took it up, it was a learning experience for me. Sometimes the video was way off, sometimes I lost sight, but this time I lost her altogether...a rookie mistake. It was way too windy. However, a few weeks earlier while visiting Naked Island in Siargao Island, I saw someone fly their drone in what I thought was extreme winds, and decided NOT to fly mine, due to the wind. I thought to myself if this guy can fly at Naked Island, I can surely fly here at The Sunken Cemetery! How I was wrong!
While I don't have any footage to show of my flight, I did have my cache settings turned on and I do have a cache file on my cell phone that I use when flying; however, I can't open the file. (2020_03_03_13_33_30.mp4). I've tried using the DJI GO 4 app and clicked on editor, but it still will not open. If any of you have any suggestions on how to open this file, let me know in the comment section.
My name and USA cell number is located under the battery compartment and I do have a sticker that states "Reward If Found", so if any of you divers out there make it about 1000 yards out and can retrieve her for me, contact me.
The only person I can blame is myself. I made a poor decision with an expensive toy. Everyone was safe getting back to shore and material things can be replaced.
