Getting a Tattoo in a Philippines Village (Barangay) | PHILIPPINES TATTOO

Getting a tattoo in the village (or Barangay) may seem a little risky since it's not really in a controlled environment like a regular tattoo shop but I wanted and needed the experience. It kind of felt like a prison tattoo without being in prison.
One day, I was walking through the neighborhood where we built the beach house, and I could hear the familiar sound of the tattoo gun and had to investigate. Come to find out one of the carpenters that helped build our beach house had a son that was a tattoo artist and did tats out of his home. I talked to him a bit and he told me, "yeah anytime, just let me know!"

I was so stoked! I had a few designs already in mind, and went out searching for the perfect tat.
When I was ready, Argel took the image to a local print shop to copy the design and came back to get started. We ended up doing the tattoo at our beach house. He arrived with a small backpack with all his tattooing gear and prepped and tatted me within less than 30 minutes. It was a great experience, and since then, I've had two more done by him. What did I pay? About $20 USD per tat!
I can't thank Argel enough for bringing more art to my body. I am hoping to get a few more from him in the near future.
