THE MENTAL HEALTH RIDE - Butuan City, PHILIPPINES
With everything that is going on in the world today with COVID-19, lockdowns, and quarantines, it can really put some stress on an individual. Being in lockdown for so long can drive a person a little coo-coo! That person was me today, and I needed to get out and ride the bike!
Riding a motorcycle is not only a means of transportation but it also provides multiple mental health benefits. The benefit of being outdoors, the benefits of a breeze hitting your skin. It also requires concentration and focus, which can get rid of everything else that you have been dwelling on.
Even if a ride is only 20-30 minutes long, it really helped me and made me relax and enjoy other things around me.
Today I rode through the Barangays Bading and Obrero in Butuan City. The Honda Click 125i has been pretty much stationary for a few months during lockdown, so I wanted to have the air checked in my tires. I then rode by the wet market and made the loop back towards home. On the way home I stopped at the Balangay Boat Building site and found two new boats that have been brought up on shore. They both looked like a couple of small pirate ships. Pretty cool, and if you get a chance go check them out before they're gone!
Overall it was a great stress reducer, and if you're ever feeling cooped up, stressed out, or down...a ride might be just what you need.
Thanks for riding with me today!
