Hiking Mirror Lake Trail - Mt Hood Oregon


Mirror Lake Trail hike is a great day trip from Portland. The two mile hike is pretty easy with a gradual elevation gain of 460 feet at a steady, moderate climb. I would rate this trail as intermediate. Views of Mt Hood from a small backcountry lake are a big draw for this trail.


The hike is usually pretty popular and can be busier on the weekends, so take that into consideration when planning on this visit. You can backpack camp up at the lake too. The parking area contains two accessible parking spaces, and 49 regular parking spaces. *As of June 2019 a Northwest Forest Pass (or annual America the Beautiful Pass) is required. The pass must be acquired beforehand as it is not sold at the trailhead. You can purchase a day pass online here:
